Answer your questions
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Ecoffea® CHI and what is its compliance advantage for the Chinese market?
Ecoffea® CHI is a rejuvenating and mitochondrial-protective active ingredient derived from the upcycling of organic green coffee (Coffea arabica), specially standardized and named to meet the regulatory requirements of the Chinese market (IECIC).
It provides the same benefits as traditional Ecoffea®, including skin microrelief regeneration, stimulation of cellular energy (ATP), and mitochondrial antioxidant protection.
What is the official INCI Name of Ecoffea® CHI and how does it differ from the standard version?
The INCI Name of Ecoffea® CHI is Water (and) Glycerin (and) Coffea Arabica (Coffee) Seed Extract.
The difference compared with the standard version, Water (and) Glycerin (and) Coffea Arabica (Coffee) Seedcake Extract, lies in the name of the botanical ingredient accepted and listed in China’s IECIC inventory (Seed Extract). This ensures full regulatory compliance for the Chinese market without altering the ingredient’s phytochemical richness or clinical efficacy.
How does the Upcycling and circular economy concept apply to the production of Ecoffea® CHI?
Ecoffea® CHI is derived from the full utilization of Brazilian organic green coffee seeds. After Coffea arabica seeds are cold-pressed to extract the oil used in Melscreen® Coffee Org, the remaining material, known as coffee seed cake, undergoes extraction in an aqueous/glycerin-based medium.
This process recovers and concentrates polar phenolic compounds with high antioxidant value, adding value to the residual biomass and eliminating the disposal of industrial waste.
